Whalers on the Moon are robots shaped like humans who 'sing a whaling tune'. In the 31st century they are believed to be the first people on the moon. One of them went to high school with Bender, and was run over by Fry in January 3000, dying doing what he loved. They are likely a parody of Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean.

Quotes
Whalers on The Moon: [singing] We're whalers on the Moon, we carry a harpoon. But there ain't no whales so we tell tall tales and sing our whaling tune.
